Annual Halloween Party & Parade: October 31 at 6PM

The West 102nd/103rd Streets Block Association are holding their Annual Halloween Party and Parade on Saturday, October 31 beginning at 6PM.  All West 104th Street Block Association Members are Invited!

Just after 5 p.m., W. 102nd St. between Riverside Drive and West End Avenue will be closed to traffic so that we can set up the party and participants can start gathering.

Costumed characters and those who just like to march in parades will proceed north on West End Ave. toward W. 103rd St., turn west on W. 103rd, go south on the Riverside Drive service road, and end up back on W. 102nd St. for treats. We hope you and your favorite children of all ages can join us.

Even if you don’t plan to attend, but especially if you do, there are valuable ways you can contribute:

  • Donate candy or other individually wrapped snacks. Please drop off any day between 8:30 am and 10 pm with the doorman at 240 W. 102nd St. at the corner of Broadway.
  • Bring cider or something sweet for the refreshments table.
  • Suggest and/or help run an activity for the kids.
  • Station yourself (in costume or not) along the parade route between 6 and 6:30 p.m. to hand out candy as the kids pass by cheer and clap at the fun of it all. An audience makes all the difference!

Please contact Jane Hopkins (jhopkins240@yahoo.com) to let her know what you’re able to contribute.

Join us for this great neighborhood event! Meet the neighbors, enjoy the cider.
